Artist Statement
“My work is a study of mediums and interactions. As a process artist, the way mediums interface and exist with each other informs the meaning of my pieces and how the themes I engage with are conveyed. I use mediums such as markers, acrylic, oil, house, spray, and pigment stick paints.
The concepts and themes in my work survey my identity, culture, family, and heritage. As a queer and afro-latina artist I weave my perspective and experiences into my pieces, allowing the reactions taking place to communicate the meanings in my art. I’m interested in layering, creating transparencies, mixture, pigments rejecting, paint reactivation, and absorption.”
